Ethical considerations in the most common uses for AI

CE Hours 2

About this course

"Should I use AI in my clinical practice?" This lecture is aimed to help clinicians make an informed decision to this question. The presenter will review five ways that clinicians often consider utilizing AI in their clinical practice: session note writing, report writing, treatment planning, clinical research and education, and referring clients to personally use AI. There are no known risks to attendees or clients. As with all clinical decision making processes, attendees should be thoughtful about their and their clients' specific needs and risks before drawing conclusions.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe an ethically-informed process for choosing to implement AI in one's clinical practice
  • Name five areas where clinicians may commonly choose to implement AI

Learning Levels

  • Introductory – Content is designed for psychologists who may have little to no background in a specialized skill or content area. Through this level of programming, the learner can become acquainted with the theoretical underpinnings, principles, methods, and perspectives of a content area. An introductory level program also may serve as the foundation for subsequent intermediate and advanced learning. Introductory level programing may also be related to an emerging area of knowledge or practice. Although this content can be used as a foundation for more advanced learning, an introductory level program may simply focus on breadth, enrichment or general knowledge.
